The relations between the systematics and chorology of the bristle-tails (Insecta Apterygota:Machiloidea) are discussed. The fossil family Triassomachilidae proves to be a synonym of Machilidae. Two new taxa are proposed, i.e. Verhoeffilis, a subgenus of Pedetontus (Machilidae: Petrobiinae), as well as Mixomachilis remingtoni n. gen. n. sp. (Machilidae:Machilinae).
